The Most Memorable Day EVER on My iROCKER SUP

iSUP 2018

Girl on an iROCKER Stand Up Paddle Board in Cold Weather

Even when the weather is not so great, I still get out on my iROCKER stand up paddle board every day. The only exception is when it is deathly cold or the water is way too rough and then, I am, admittedly, a bit of a chicken.

My priorities are getting out on my board. Period. All of the other “obligations” in life tend to bog me down if I don’t get a great paddle in first thing in the morning.

Unfortunately, every great now and then, the weather is beyond terrible. Super windy, icy rain and choppy water.

Even though it’s rare, it does happen and when it does, I might actually run errands, clean or maybe even binge on Game of Thrones. (Yes, I admit it.)

Wednesday was really close to being one of those days. There was a layer of frost on my car, (in March!) and wind that felt like it was straight from Eureka. It looked grey and miserable as far as the eye could see. All I wanted to do was crawl back under the covers.

While I was lounging around in my pajamas, waiting for my tea and weighing my options for the day, my best girlfriend showed up to bring me to my senses.

She got me off the couch and dragged me to the water. The fact that my iROCKER is easy to inflate made it impossible for me to find an excuse, in spite of the gloom outside.

And as it turned out, Wednesday was, without a doubt, the best SUP day I’ve ever had! Considering I go stand up paddle boarding almost every day, that’s a big, bold statement.

The weather did start out crummy but by the time I was geared up and on the water, the sun came out, the rain stopped and the fog cleared. All was right in my world.

It was just us, the water and our boards all morning, without another soul in sight.

And it was perfect.

Have you ever just had the water to yourself, and only the fish and birds talking to you? Until Wednesday, I had never experienced that kind of quiet.

It was, without a doubt, the best experience I have ever had on my board.

When we were finished, we couldn’t stop laughing. How could a day go from miserable to amazing in such a small amount of time?

It just goes to show you what a great friend and top-notch paddle boarding gear can do to make a drab day turn out great.

Have you ever had a lousy day turn into a great day after a session on your iROCKER? If you have, we’d love to hear about it. Please tell us all about it in the comment fields below.
